Pros

Your experience within Pure Gym will vary based on who your line manager. The cluster and regional manager will have a huge impact on how you feel within your role and how happy/frustrated you are. - Great career development opportunities - Feel valued by the company - Decent bonus scheme based on performance - Private health care

Cons

- Match the pay or better than competitors - Some regional managers create a small click that can make you feel isolated from opportunities and extra responsibility's - Hiring for a PT/FC model which is clearly underperforming and no sign of a change - Running clubs under staffed and a either do it or face the consequences attitude can result in burn out or unpaid overtime.

Pros

3x 4-hour shifts. Great way to improve your people skills. Great source of clients. Reasonable entry into a PT career. On-the-job fitness-related learning. One free gym membership for anyone you choose. Free Yanga water. Unlimited access to the gym whilst a member of staff. First month is rent-free.

Cons

You pay more rent than you earn in wages. You can be teaching up to 8-9 classes a week that are up to 45-60 minutes long, with up to 3 classes per shift back to back. The company focuses the management team more on hitting targets and numbers than staff on welfare. Not all managers are friendly to staff and their needs. Minimum wage for teaching classes, keeping members happy, and constant cleaning every shift. May develop injuries from being overworked. Constant cleaning of every piece of equipment, every shift. No real support to help develop your PT business. High staff turnover.

Pure Gym Response

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that your experience of working with PureGym fell short of your expectations and really appreciate you feeding this back to us. We shall ensure that your feedback is heard by the right people, in the aim of improving our support for team members. We aim to support rewarding careers for everyone however we acknowledge that cleaning is not always an aspect of the job role which is enjoyable, but must maintain the standards PureGym pride ourselves in, for our members. We do consider the rent charged for Personal Trainers carefully, but can appreciate this can be challenging, especially as you are establishing a PT business within the club. Thank you again for taking the time to feed back to us.
