Pros

Casual work environment and very nice coworkers. They don't seem to grind the IT people with excessive hours like many companies. Made to feel IT is appreciated.

Cons

Lots of layers of management, growing pains with consolidation of IS services. Holidays come out of general PTO time. Work from home policies seem to be inconsistant and very limited.

Pros

Mission is not just on the wall; it truly is front and center. Caring culture. Gives back as much as possible to the communities it serves. Great growth opportunities for young professionals.

Cons

Consistently understaffed. Staff overburdened with work. Performance management is lacking. Consensus-based decision making culture=very slow pace.

Pros

Providence Health & Services, Southern California operates five hospitals in the region, including three in the San Fernando Valley. Well respected large local employer. Fantastic Mission, Vision, Values. Highly respectable H.R. Department and its staff.

Cons

Although Providence is an overall great organization to work for, like all work environments they too have an area for improvement....Highly bureaucratic, antiquated top-down organizational structure that continue to dominate our workplace including this organization. The bureaucracy leaves many departments feeling fragmented and it impedes the organization from being able to adapt to chances that constantly take place in the healthcare arena; smaller physician owned specialty medical offices are much quicker to adapt and get the business leaving us open and vulnerable until the "real-time" activities/environment is acknowledged by the C-level. The individual I personally reported to was a great leader, kind person, highly talented and bright, I remain highly respectful to them.
