A good company with a mission being led poorly to its demise

Pros

Prior to the leadership changes Providence was a good company that held to a core mission that made this a great place to work. People and patient focus were at the center of all the work. Now...

Cons

Cronyism, nepotism and favoritism abound. The mission is all but gone from Providence under the current leadership. Mid level managers and directors make decisions based on keeping their jobs rather than doing the right thing. Senior leaders...bound to over proceed compensation packages and golden parachutes use all the right words ... but model a "me first" mentality that leaves employees out in the cold.

Pros

Great hard working employees....even if they are underpaid, and overworked. The lower level employees still believe that the mission means something.

Cons

There is no room for growth in this company, and if you do get a new job, the raise they give you laughable. There is no way to get a raise, other than during your annual review, and the maximum you could get was does not even keep up with the cost of living. But if you take a look at the Lund report, the executives are living a life of luxury. The benefits have become terrible in the last few years, and they even took a day of PTO away from their employees. They take care of the community, but not their own employees.

Pros

Healthcare is a viable career now and in the future - suggest getting certificates/degrees in hand and keep current to maintain viable options.

Cons

Providence DOES NOT care about its employees - certainly does not live by its Mission Statement when it comes to employees!!
