Premier's mission of improving the health of communities is noble. There is challenging work and a lot of autonomy. The compensation is very competitive, and the benefits programs are outstanding with a big focus on employee wellness. Premier's core values resonate and the employees are great to work with.

Cons

You must be nimble to work at Premier as there are changes happening quite frequently. Work-life balance can get strained at times.

Pros

Company truly wants to improve healthcare, and there are many caring people.

Cons

Senior leadership has no clue how to operate the parts of the company that are not consulting. Most leaders in major business units treat everything like a consulting engagement, so there are a lot of starts and stops with critical activities needed to run the business. Very little respect for areas of the business that have a need for process discipline.

Pros

Higher pay than similar companies in the area. Benefits are average.

Cons

New management has changed the culture for the worse, no communication to staff. Staff are interchangeable cogs, easy to replace, demonstrated lack of respect for staff. Very political environment with some of the worst behavior imaginable tolerated. Very poor work-life balance/quality of life, very high stress for application development. Beware of increased outsourcing of application development and operations. They are having trouble attracting experienced talent for good reason.
