Pros

Interesting new products that have the potential to bring the company back into the market as a viable engine manufacturer, if executed effectively.

Cons

The work force doesn't seem to be creative enough to figure out how to provide solutions in an increasingly analytical and diagnostic driven industry. The company seems to be years behind what their competitors have already brought to market and unwilling to recognize that, as majority of workforce has limited or no knowledge outside of PW. There are too many meetings that are solely used to flow down information. Furthermore, there appears to be lack of empowerment throughout middle management regarding their ability to make lasting decisions on any initiative without fear of frustrating an executive. The organization remains highly bureaucratic.

Great Job, but poorly managed; very political.

Pros

Great Job! I love going to work everyday. The pay is good. Provide free safety shoes. Clean working environment.

Cons

Management is very poor. They care nothing about their employees below any management level. You opinion doesn't matter even though they say it does. They make false efforts to show they do when in reality they really dont. Lots of smoke and mirrors! Very political, at this location. They promote based off of gender and color of your skin and not by your knowledge, skill, or worth ethic. Just because it's 'beneficial' to that person doesn't mean its not prejudice to promote under skilled and under-qualified individuals based on color or gender. In this professional atmosphere you are expected to obey without question right or wrong for the sake of it being held against you or painting a target on your back for simply questioning a policy or procedure even though it is part of your job to think outside the box to solve important day to day issues. You are expected to sail into the iceberg without saying a word, and only when you hit the iceberg are you allowed to speak out. Bureaucracy! Bureaucracy! Bureaucracy! Lots of meetings! All day long! Most lead to no action; if they do its minimal. Wasteful with time management. Minimal actions taken to address major issues with process unless it stops production! THEN and only then. Is appropriate action taken. You are expected by your direct manager to work longer than 8 hours as salary with no compensations. You can be fired as salary at-will. Leading to fear in the workplace. Hourly is Union protected, but Union power at this location is minimally effective. Poor Benefits! Specially medical! Very expensive and high deductibles. Nothing to help you besides HSA. No more pensions! All retirement is based on stock and 401K.
