- Extremely long hours expected (got to bleed green!)
- Insanely low pay, particularly compared to other departments (they rely on the fact that you dont care about the money, this is your dream! Most employees survive with dual income, or have several roommates)
- Treated as disposable (they’ll burn you out and fill your shoes with someone else, all while saying “we are a family”
- Cult like devotion from other departments, particularly the ones who do not have to work 6/7 days a week
- Quietly expected not to take any PTO or time off
- They tote the lack of pay is balanced by the “amazing benefits!” Benefits are only truly enjoyed by upper level management/other departments, you work every game so you can never use your tickets, you make such little pay you can’t use the 401k without missing rent, the gym is great but you can never use it during normal hours because the players are in there, the 10 free therapy sessions aren’t nearly enough for the psychological damage caused by working 70 hour weeks all to hear it’s not quite good enough.
- It doesn’t actually open any doors into the industry. No one cares that you worked there, its a very niche type of media, and people wont be knocking down your door trying to hire you.
- Everyone outside of Eagles Entertainment, particularly middle and upper managers, are quietly very backstabby and looking to punch down to bring themselves up. At least that’s how it felt.
- No room to grow, they’d prefer you get burnt out and quit, or be comfortable making the 2% per year non negotiable salary increase (if you’re lucky) and hire from the outside.
- From July-February, and the draft, you work or on calll every day, holidays, weddings, funerals, sick days are strongly discouraged (sometimes they won’t explicitly say no, you’ll just hear about your lack of devotion)
- THEY DO NOT CARE AT ALL ABOUT THEIR FRONT OFFICE EMPLOYEES
