Pros
The salary and benefits are very good. Most people here have their own offices which I think is great. From what I’ve seen in two years most people here are very professional. The management is overall good and fair. My peers and I get time off if we need to. I can say that most of us are not overloaded with work so far. There’s a lot of change and as difficult as it is the management seems to be doing a good job at handling it and driving the process forward. Another positive thing is that there are many positions here in the company. If one gets eliminated you can always get another one.
Cons
In the past two years there have been massive layoffs. We know that more are coming our way. Many job functions have been outsourced. We have a lot of contractors at this point. Important drug patents, like Lipitor, are expiring in a few years, we know this is bad. Nothing new and major is coming “down the pipeline” so I’m not sure how bright the future is looking. All this extensive uncertainty is rather difficult to deal with. I’ve seen many changes since I started here two years ago. The company is also drastically cutting its benefits and severance packages in the end of this year. I can’t even imagine how people that have been working here for more than a decade feel.
