      Pfizer: Top down, micro Managerial woes

      Pros

      Ultra competitive compensation, outstanding benefits, opportunity for advancement, and a CEO who I believe is heading the company in the proper direction.

      Cons

      Littered with a number of old "Big Pharma" top down micro Managers, so be careful during the interview process and ensure you ask the right qquestions relative to the attributes you find important in the person you report to. Pfizer has outstanding talent in their respective fields, but that talent does not translate to sound Managerial skills, and with little to no Management training offered, the company seemingly promotes based on the technical knowledge of a candidate as opposed to recognizing the critical skill sets that translates to Managerial success.

      Pros

      Nice benefits. Really liked the prescription plan as I needed expensive cremes from my dermatologist which were hundreds of dollars per tube. Enjoyed my colleagues and supervisor

      Cons

      Lots of uncertainty during these economic times. Promotions difficult to come by.
