      Pfizer vs Wyeth

      Pros

      Solid and agressive company with good business oriented mentality culture for a pharmaceutical company so full of technical/scientific background people.

      Cons

      I became part of Pfizer with the recent acquisition of Wyeth so comparing both companies, I have to admit that Wyeth was a much more organized company with a bigger commitment to doing things right that Pfizer. A bit dissapointed of Pfizer, I was expecting more from such a successful pharma company. I guess their success relies more on their good pipeline of products and their R&D. In manufacturing they have a lot to learn from Wyeth or other companies I have worked for before like J&J.

      Pfizer was a positive experience, there are many great people that are willing to help and want things to be done right.

      Cons

      Pfizer is a huge company with all of the red tape that goes with being that big. They are slow to move on things.

      Pros

      The bar is pretty low. If you show up and don't rock the boat you can ride projects for a year or more. Rates are ok. If you can swing a direct PO you're set. Most of that has been done away with though.

      Cons

      Management is a complete failure. They're completely clueless as to what they're doing. Lots and lots of managers, directors, supervisors etc. No worker bees. All the work is done by contractors, and they rotate those out on a yearly basis. Lots and lots of fire-drills. Sometime it's just plain soul-crushing.
