      Great if your take the sales route into management

      Pros

      benefits are exemplary--they do make the effort to retain good employees when they're not downsizing.

      Cons

      Major silos between departments that should be working together. The company is as much a sales driven company as it is innovation-driven, which means they have great recognition programs for sales but not so much for the rest of the company. Not much growth for administrative support , associate-level and some manager positions. Poor middle management--very cliquish.

      Pros

      Good salary and benefits. Great facilities. It is the largest pharma company in the world so it has clout. If you do your job and the luck of the draw have a good manager, you'll go places.

      Cons

      Your advancement depends on who your manager is and who you know. Some mangers are totally incompetent and some are extremely competent. Now that the industry has no block buster drugs, the pendulum is swinging extremely to the other side. Extremely is the key word here. It seems there's over reaction all over the place.

      Pros

      Pfizer offers flexible work conditions. Benifits are competitive to other peer pharma companies.

      Cons

      The company has poor pipeline. It is totally about return to share holder equity. Layoff/ survival is name of the game. If you work in manufacturing then tough luck, because Pfizer buys companies and works really hard to outsource manufacturing to out of U.S. If you work in research, then it it's outsourced to asia, unless you are in biological research.
