      Pros

      The pay is very good compared to industry, the physical plant was nice, and the benefits were excellent.

      Cons

      My last few years there saw constant instbility. Each department was is own little feifdom. Senior management seemed clueless, disinterested, or outright exploitative. Promotion was done by a series of favoritism and entirely unrelated to performance (which was reviewed in a chicken-sh** "cover your butt" fill-in-the-box style which said nothing).

      Pros

      As a contractor, I had a flexible schedule. The department had decent co-workers and a laid-back atmosphere.

      Cons

      When is a contractor no longer a contractor? I would say five years is excessive. I understand Pfizer changed that and contractors are only allowed to stay one year. Perhaps this is a better policy, so there is no more dangling of the carrot.
