The company has experienced unprecedented growth recently and the pains associated are evident. Trying to maintain profit during tough times while absorbing aquisitions and restructuring management causes some miscommunication and "ball dropping".
As in any work place there are politics and favoritism but that is par for the course.
Direct reports, specific to myself, were less than stellar in initially conveying specific job responsibilities or providing time to train new employees for skill set enhancement. The performance reviews were soft and communitcation was poor. There was also a lack of a strong management intervention in employee disputes or issues that resulted in lower performance from some team members. There seemed to be an attitude towards protecting ones job and ultimatly forsaking everyone else it was easy to become a scapegoat. There was no apparent desire to see anyone advance so not much was done to help facilitate that.
