A large company with a problematic culture

Pros

As an engineering IC there are immense opportunities and challenges to tackle in Payoneer. The system is comprised out of old, to be replaced, components and pieces of infrastructure that require true engineering challenges to improve, replace-in-place or deprecate. It's a large system through which an engineer can express his/her creativity. The engineering department is, for the most part, ready to take daring steps in order to move forwards, stay up to date and deliver business results.

Cons

The professional culture and personal accountability amongst the tech organization is in a terrible state. Whether it's professional bullying by more senior people, terrible communication culture in meetings, lack of accountability where it comes to decision making resulting in a cyclic process that never ends. Relations between product and engineering are abysmal and result in projects not starting, confusion about requirements, inability to plan ahead and understand priorities. Senior management hangs out together and often separates itself from the rest of the company. Executives promote this behaviour which leaves a lot of people stuck feeling bad about themselves or their work. I'm having a hard time understanding how to navigate the workplace, be efficient and grow.

Thank you for your feedback! We're pleased that you recognize Payoneer as a strong global company with a vast market presence. However, we regret to hear that your onboarding experience wasn’t as smooth as it could have been. Your suggestion to involve employees more in decision-making through polls is a great idea, and we appreciate your input. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
