Pros
CNET was an amazing company to work at. Very social. Full of smart, driven people that loved building cool sites with industry respected editorial. With the right manager, hard work was rewarded with pay raises or promotions.
Cons
Since CBS purchased the company they challenged everything from the enjoyable social atmosphere to personal benefits to farming out technical teams out of san francisco. Used to be fun. Now it's just work. CNET/CBS pays right at or slightly below industry standard. The lower salary used to be balanced by better benefits but those have been reduced.
