      A great opportunity to become familiar with the daily writing process.

      Pros

      I was an intern with one of MTV's websites. They produce daily content which is really important experience for a communications student. Very demanding -- almost considered a staffer.

      Cons

      Typical office drama...a lot of gossip. I wasn't really used to that, but I guess it comes with the territory. Sometimes staffers had to scramble to find things for interns to do.

      Great benefits and people to work with. Creative environment. Fun space. Nice managers. Cool parties and young environment.

      i think happiness at teh job depends on who your manager is. not consistent across the organization

      Pros

      The work environment is usually very laid back, and in some departments, there is little micromanaging and overly burdensome requirements. Because of that, there are a lot of opportunities and freedom to experiment, but not necessarily the support.

      Cons

      The company operates very, very slowly. In order to undertake initiatives, it's a necessity to get upper management's active support. While that makes sense, it doesn't in the online world, where media and reactions need to change very rapidly. For some departments, it's also so easy that many employees feel that they can "phone" it in, so to speak.
