Good place to work but depends on team

Pros

Overall the office is fine and the open space really lets you meet people from outside your team. There's also happy hours every month, bagels on Fridays, and lots of social activities throughout the year (Cinco de Mayo, Octoberfest, etc)

Cons

It's hard to say how to feel about the company overall because I really think contentment at work at this organization is based on your team / silo. CBSi tries to have a chill attitude as a whole to attract younger talent in the media world (vs CBS coroporate which is a bit more old fashioned), but at the end of the day each smaller unit has their own culture/attitude about the organization.

Pros

Newly remodeled offices, respect & support for work-life balance, a high(er than usual) percentage of women leading technology teams, super supportive & involved HR team, company is constantly trying to improve its offerings in the market.

Cons

Long history of acquisitions creates some natural tension between business units and brands within the company: the need for autonomy, speed, & differentiation is constantly negotiating with the the need for shared resources and cohesive strategy.

Pros

You work with some fun, smart people. The benefits are excellent and very decent work life balance. It's also a very progressive organization in the "bring your whole self to work" way. The new CEO is trying to take the drastic measures that should have been taken eons ago (Glassdoor mistakenly has Dauman as the CEO, that is incorrect).

Cons

The company lost all of it's great creative talents like Tom Freston and Judy McGrath and let an overpaid lawyer run the organization into the ground. I would love to be able to recommend this place to a friend but right now things are entirely too unstable.
