Loved my job and my co-workers, hated senior management.

Pros

Positive environment to work, and you're surrounded by creative, hardworking people. Most people happy to work here, and stay a while.

Cons

Senior management in my department completely removed from day to day processes, or any processes for that matter. Unwilling to listen to feedback. Could care less about well-being of employees/office morale.

Pros

The studio is the last remaining production lot based in Hollywood and that makes it exciting. Also, the campus has a lot of services available for employees but both of those benefits lose their luster once the honeymoon is over.

Cons

Senior management are hatchet men and women (although very few of them) who care nothing about the well-being of staff. All employees, regardless of tenure, experience and productivity level should be fearful of the annual fiscal year-end layoff. No promotions from within - open upper-level positions are frequently given to cronies of management without even the pretense of making staff believe they are being considered. Oh, and if you are up for layoff, they act as if the package they are giving you is great: it isn't. And, the movies usually suck.

Excellent MBA Internship (Yielded to Full-Time)

Pros

High energy studio lot makes going to work every day feel special and far from mundane. Friendly and bright colleagues provide for an enjoyable and stimulating work environment. Work/life balance is a plus and there are numerous perks/amenities (weekly screenings are just the beginning). Paramount functions almost like a small city in terms of its onsite offerings: excellent fitness center, dry cleaning, salon/barbershop, daycare, health clinic, car wash, multiple restaurants, etc. Internship-specific: Incredible summer experience and far exceeded my expectations. Highly structured with events that encourage interns to learn various parts of the business (i.e. weekly speaker series and related networking events).

Cons

Though it’s true there’s relatively low yield to F/T employment (especially when compared against MBA internships outside of entertainment), it’s worth noting F/T yield has increased significantly in recent years. Either way, Paramount’s MBA internship is top notch and will serve you well in industry, whether you land here permanently or not.
