Pros

HR Benefits team is doing a great job of providing benefits such as flexible work from home program 1 day a week, 35 hours a year towards non-profit work, paternity leave, good medical benefits.

Cons

1) A lot of employees who have been at Panasonic for 30 - 40 years who have a lot of experience, however are very set in their ways and defensive when it comes to change. 2) The founders values are shared on business cards and plastered on walls however employees do not follow and people treat each other poorly. 3) Leadership wants employees to act as if it was one centralized organization and decision and alignment is easy but company is very decentralized and working cross-functionally is demoralizing. 4) HR has no backbone when it comes to working with challenging employees at the company. They allow for toxic work environments to fester. Employees who would have normally been out at any other company are allowed to stay and are a turn off for new employees coming in. 5) For as big as a company Panasonic is in North America, career advancement within the organization is minimal. Entities do not work cross functionally to ensure there are opportunities for high performers and thus people end up leaving. 6) The company has the flexible work program however the culture expects you to never be off

Pros

Good benefits, new office building

Cons

Very poorly managed. Company founder must be spinning in his grave at the disgrace the US business has become. Corporate is especially bad with their cronyism. Most hard working, loyal employees have to spend all their time currying favor with the management. Hard work is not rewarded, raises are paltry, most employees plateau after a few years. For millennials best bet is to stay for a year or two, put the name on the resume, and then move on. You won't advance otherwise.

Pros

I am hopeful that some of the existing talent (both new and old alike) can weather the current "CEO" storm and restore this once great company to its former brilliance. It is best to wait out the current mis-management and try back at a later date. There are some brilliant, compassionate, talented and caring people in the overall organization but unfortunately that does not carry any value when it comes to the current environment and the top individual managing it.

Cons

I was fortunate to be able to get out voluntarily with my dignity intact. The atmosphere that is being cultivated from the very top down is nothing short of toxic. I am only hopeful that this review can save someone else from experiencing the same day to day misery. Top performers/department are suddenly deemed worthless and disposable. It doesn't matter what "generation" you may fall into as the negative atmosphere does not discriminate nor favor anyone.
