Pros

Lots of good, smart and motivated people working there. Management are attempting to improve culture.

Cons

Massive downward shift in culture, very hard to feel appreciated, harder and harder to progress, managers rarely listen

Pros

Sounds cliche, but the people are the biggest pro. PP attracts excellent talent. I've learned so much from my colleagues and I learn from them every day. It was easy to move on in your career if you work hard, lately that has changed considerably with the upcoming merger. That said, it still remains a great place to start your career.

Cons

There can be a lot of red tape when trying to bring about any change. A company re-org and a merger announced in the space of a few months was a lot for staff to take on board, it's damaged the atmosphere considerably. People have been promoted on the basis of politics and not skill. Hopefully things will settle down once the merger is consolidated and management are less distracted. It is harder for women to progress in this company.

Gone to the dogs

Pros

Most employees are a good laugh, games room good social place for after lunch. Casual dress could means it's a more relaxed/comfortable working day.

Cons

Where to start. Parking is impossible unless you're in before 9. Reorgs are out of hand and getting to most. Promotions are based around being part of a pub click. Managers that get appointed because of who they know are in the majority resulting to great levels of incompetence and lack of direction. It used to be a great place to work when some off the best leaders you could work under, but most of them have left or been pushed out to make way for more of the clique. Now not only all the good managers are leaving the best developers and staff are too, mainly due to getting no respect our cudos for there work unless they also happen to be part of the pub clique It truly seems to be the proverbial sinking ship that will be swallowed up by betfair.
