Pros

Pay- the company offers competitive pay however, if you accept the sign-on bonus you are in contract to stay at PPD up to two years.

Cons

BEWARE: Recommended to NOT accept the sign-on bonus. If so, you will be contractually obligated to stay for up to two years. If the contract is broken you will have to pay back the amount to varying degrees. No matter how enticing it seems, I would advise against choosing to work for PPD. The company seems to be in bad shape. A lot of CRA’s keep leaving (poor work culture and poor management). It’s a ‘do as we say or else’ mentality. - disregard for employees: this company has one main concern and that is money. They do not care or show respect for employees. - inadequate training: the company bends their own rules when it’s convenient for them and in order to meet demands of clients they forgo proper training, risking quality and integrity. - poor benefits: few health care plan options and high deductibles with limited services. -poor communication: all around. Again a ‘do as we say…’ they don’t appreciate it listen to employees asking questions or bringing concerns to them. - high risk for burnout: given the company’s main concern is financial they seem to view the CRA’s as objects and not humans.

Pros

The management of the Support team really tries hard with the limited resources available to them to satisfy the unrealistic expectations put on them by the other teams within the department and the department senior management team. They also try hard to make the job less stressful and to also put in safeguards needed (without much support from the rest of the department) to prevent issues and the team from making mistakes.

Cons

- Do you like to have unrealistic expectations put on you and even if you manage to meet the unrealistic ever changing goal posts, be told that in their eyes you didn't meet the goal in the timely fashion they expected? Then this job is for you. - Do you like to be regularly blamed things gone wrong and be thrown under the bus by the clinical team and the IRT Project Managers? Then this job is for you? - When something results in a CAPA, do you like for the solution to almost always be "retraining"? Then this job is for you. - Do you like to be regularly looked down upon by the rest of the department and treated like a second class citizen? Then this job is for you. - Do you like the senior management team view "Why should we invest the time / resources to train someone and help them advance if it doesn't help the department? It's better to limit an employee skillet so that they are less likely to leave the position that they are in."? Then this job is for you. - Do you like the expectation that when you're done for the day, that you go home and do what you need to do with your family but then later that night you should / need to log back on so you can do more work? Then this job is for you. - Do you like being not considered or even given a chance to apply for advancement opportunities within the department when they become available? Then this job is for you. - Do you like having hardly any opportunities to advance into management within the department beyond the senior level because the management teams have been there in place for over 10 years on average? Then this job is for you. - Do you like being a part of a product / service that doesn't generate revenue for the company and is just looked upon as being an "add on service" that is just tacked on bids? Then this job is for you. - And lastly, do you like a senior management team that will not think twice about demeaning someone in front of someone else? Then this job is for you.
