Pros

- I got payed on time. - Nice facility

Cons

- Everything else The work is incredibly repetitive. Normally I would not mind this so much (you know this before you start), if it wasn't for the dreadful working atmosphere. Co-workers tattling about each other just to get ahead, even telling lies about other co-workers. Lot's of gossip also. There's also no room to make any mistakes, no matter how small (for example losing a normal ballpoint pen). Mistakes are punished with public yelling and shaming. Threats are also very common. They treat their workers like toddlers/cheap laborers. Truly. Everything is restricted and limited. Every single little thing. You can't touch the radio, you can't touch the supplies etc. All you may do is sit at your desk and work. Even talking to co-workers will be immediately reprimanded, as is taking breaks in small 'friend'-groups. If you get to take breaks at all. In the beginning you get the PPD-break policy (15 min in morning and afternoon) on paper, but if you take the breaks (even if it's only 10min tops), you'll get yelled at and reprimanded. They also pay horribly. They have very low wages for the sector they are in, and overtime doesn't get payed out unless if it's longer than 30min. There's a reason why there's someone leaving almost every week... Supervisors bullying their teams is really not okay. I was miserable here, as were many of my co-workers. The tension is always noticeable at PPD Global Labs.

Pros

Flexible work schedule for lab staff. Loose dress code interpretation of business casual. The company has gone downhill the past few years.

Cons

Huge turnover in every department. No work/home life balance. Horrible moral. Extremely hard and limited for promotions or raises. Keeps eliminating perks (coffee creamer, gym, etc). More new staff, less effective, less space.

Pros

Nice office location. Possibility to work from home occasionally.

Cons

High turnover of staff is proof that you should stay well away from this dept.. Atmosphere is extremely unprofessional with certain colleagues bullying via micro-managing and scrutinising your every action then reporting back to managers who show blatant favouritism and bias. Workload is insane as certain managers don't hold existing staff accountable for their actions therefore you'll be forced to do much more than your fair share whilst your colleagues relax and browse the internet for the majority of the day. Training is absolutely shocking - trained by colleagues with poor communication skills and important information which would enable you to perform your role effectively is purposely withheld leaving you to struggle to figure things out for yourself. Overloaded with SOP's and documents that have no relevance to your role but which you'll never have time to read anyway due to the heavy workload. Little to no opportunity to get involved in interesting projects - you can literally get stuck indefinitely doing admin work with no elements of science whatsoever.
