Pros

The have an extensive software product line. You could learn JD Edwards, Peoplesoft, Hyperion, and Siebel. If management permits, you have opportunities learn products that may further your career. The company name will look good on your resume. The benefits are comparable for a company of this size.

Cons

They view employees strictly as headcount. A person can get lost in all the bureaucracy. The current bonus structure for consulting does not compete with other services organizations. If you do not like large organizations, then this is not the company for you. If you are joining as a consultant, then you need to come in with a solid base salary. The bonus' have not been that good since I have been with them. There seems to be a reorganization every other quarter. When it comes time for an annual review some people will have had 3+ managers in a 12 month period.

Pros

The company is large, well respected, and it has a lot of opportunities. It also provides a lot of training opportunities. The benefit is one of the top among companies. If you are single, you pretty much don't need to pay for health insurance out of your pocket.

Cons

Salary is not competitive, and they promise you quarterly bonus, which only happened once in the past year. As a consultant, there is no per diem, so you basically having a pay cut. Communication from senior is not sufficient. A lot of time they decide one something and just simply ask you to do it without getting your opinion first... and this is decisions regarding technical solution. Imagine having management people making technical decision. Good performance is not being recognized. They'll tell you "good job" ... then just move on and keep quiet. This is wrong!

Pros

Oracle can be a good training ground for people that has some or little sales experiences. It is a place that's very difficult for someone who's new. Most people are only there for themselves, especially, the managements. You think you could just do your honest work, sell some software, then get paid? No, you still have to battle others and people in finance to get your commission. Career path at Oracle? there isn't any. That's why this is a place that you can pick up some skills, and then get out of it. It doesn't really matter to the company that they've lost some skilled workers, they can always hire someone from outside, in a week.

Cons

They constantly make unnecessary changes that doesn't benefit the customer, employee, nor the business.
