Pros

It is easy to move around different departments to gain experience. For example, many people start off in technical roles, but move to business (e.g. product management) roles later. Many companies want to hire those with Oracle experience.

Cons

Very bureaucratic - takes forever to get even simple things done. I found it very refreshing to go to a start-up after Oracle.

Pros

Listing Oracle on your resume is one of the best reasons, as the company is recognized as leading software company. Compensation is good for my role. Work schedule is flexible, as is the choice of tools and methodologies (though there is a strong preference to Oracle owned technologies, even when they are not he best). Bonuses are sometimes good.

Cons

Small salary increases is a large one. Bonuses seem to be dependent little on individual performance but rather on business unit performance. There is a strong preference to offshore development, even when it doesn't make sense due to great difficulty in finding experience, qualified candidates.

Pros

Being a large corporation, there's always the ability to transfer to an out-of-state location if needed.

Cons

It has a huge beauracracy. Things move at a snail's pace as compared to other companies I've been employed at. Each small group assumes that their particular "process" is what is used throughout Oracle. Yet, if you ask 25 different teams on what to do, you'll get 25 different answers. Very centralized decision making. Little, to no, power given to lower level management, hence everyone waits for one of the top few executives to decide on something, even on the most meaningless of changes or opportunities. This results in very little "ownership" of one's job or work effort.
