      Pros

      As a consultant, one of the best parts of working at Oracle is that you get a lot of hands-on experience very quickly. You can be 'thrown in the fire' and expected to produce quality results right-a-way. If you like the challenge then it is a great place to work. You typically are ask to focus on one technology or product at Oracle, but when at a client's site you may get pulled into other technologies or products. This keeps your job exciting and not so mundane. When the economy is doing well, Oracle is very supportive of training, including in-class training.

      Cons

      Oracle is a big company so you can have the feeling of a small fish in a big pond. If you are looking for a lot of recognition from management this is not the place for you.

      Pros

      Large and stable company. Good benefits and job stability in these economic times. They promote a healthy work/ life balance, a great place to work if you have kids! Nurtures a learning environment, offers multiple classes to it's employees to increase learning There are many different products, so you can switch jobs easily within oracle if you want a new challenge.

      Cons

      Does not provide a fast paced and innovative environment if you are looking for that. A lot of work happens across continents so there are some late night/ early morning meetings to allow the US and India teams to work together. There is not a good process followed to determine raises and promotions.

      Pros

      - smart and very savvy senior leadership team - best tech CEO in the world - you get to work with a bunch of very sharp software engineers - with all the recent companies aquired by Oracle there are tons of opportunities to work with a very broad range of technologies

      Cons

      - poor middle management - demanding work hours - poor benefits package - few vacation days - compensation package is fair or below average for similar type companies
