Pros

It was a very laid back enviroment (at my location, at least). There are a variety of things to do so it's rarely ever monotonous. You're either doing the fitting room or the womens or mens or kids section. The team-work aspect of it was great. You are rarely ever in a section by yourself. The break system was great.

Cons

Annoying coworkers, but that can be a con at virtually any job. I can't think of too many cons particular to Old navy.

Pros

The company was pretty flexible with hours. The management had a keen sense of which associates had potential for advancement.

Cons

Working late hours and weekends (it's retail, what can you expect?), The following is based on what happened 2 years ago, but the pay could've been a little more competitive.

Pros

-Old Navy provides very flexible hours so you are able to work between classes, on weekends, or nights. -Best discounts for employees around with 25% on old navy, and 50% off at banana and gap. -Get to work with peers -Easy to transfer from store to store when I go home for the holidays or summers.

Cons

-Very little opportunity for advancement. Old Navy often does not promote from within the store. -Even if sales are ok work hours tend to be cut to the point where part timers get 10 hours or less in a week. -Pay raises average around $0.30 a year -Very little ability to be independent with constant micromanaging -Endless policies and procedures -Customers are often rude -If you see someone shoplifting you can't do anything and if you do do something then you will have to attend court for the shoplifter's hearing and not be compensated for time or gas and will not be accompanied by a manager. -Management often plays favorites -If you do not get Old Navy cards you will be terminated by essentially never getting hours. -Whether you have worked there a month or 8 years you will be treated as a 5 year old. -The store gets unreasonably messy and you must clean it in an unrealistic amount of time.
