Pros

You have a descent salary, compared to other organisations in Ukraine. Work is engaging, projects are interesting, you feel that you do some good in this world. You get good medical insurance, however, you do pay for it yourself.

Cons

Job has a limited contract (until the end of the project). Rigid systems in terms of bureaucracy, long working hours (7 hours + 1 hour lunch). Little flexibility in terms of working from home etc.

Pros

The location, salary and the access to international negotiations in and around the UN are fascinating. I would advice anyone who is interested in working with issues regarding security and human rights in the arena of International Organisations to consider the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe. It delivers excellent access to the UN as well, while being a little easier to get in to.

Cons

There is limited possibilities to receive formal training and to move up in the hierarchy
