Pros

Nutrien is truly trying to be one of the top employers and I think they are on their way. They care about their employees by offering good benefits, several employee resource groups, and opportunities for education and growth. I look forward to going to work because of the great people that work here.

Cons

Communication has been a pain point in the past but they are making great strides to be open and communicative with their employees.

Nutrien, overrun by big egos!

Pros

If you like to travel and being away from your family, this is your place.

Cons

Leadership, specifically in IT, is chaotic. Projects are delayed, costs are running high and instead of looking at who is in charge of making the big decisions, the blame is running downhill. Yes, there was a merger, but, at what point do we stop using that as an excuse for all that is wrong? At what point is the leader questioned about their decisions? The stress levels on most IT projects are incredibly high with top down demands of do as I say, not as I do. Our leader has aged 10 years in the last year, we can all see the stress he is under but, this is due to his decisions and his alone. The culture is terrible. Although, you do see some middle managers trying to engage and protect their teams from the ego from above. They can only do so much. Stamping your face on a blog or a townhall type call is not leadership, it's narcissism. Be a leader, take action, get the consultants under control, better yet, get rid of them and train and promote from within. I think that promise from a couple of years ago was forgotten. Long standing employees in leadership positions were packaged out with the merger and replaced by hiring previous consultants. It doesn't take a lot of fact finding to see that the top dog hired his loyal followers. If you are looking for a position where you are valued for your commitment, growth mindset and effort, keep looking!

We’re disappointed to hear that your experience with us has not been good since the merger. As a global company with over 20,000 employees, we recognize there are likely issues that are not a direct result of the combination of organizations. Merger aside, our focus is on building a culture and employee experience that is consistent and positive, regardless of location or department. At Nutrien, our senior leaders are encouraged to engage with their staff. This means working directly with employees, answering Q&As and hosting departmental town halls. The goal is to facilitate a two-way dialogue with employees, and to keep information channels open. Thank you for taking the time to submit a review, your feedback is important.
