Pros

The benefits are good- on par with other companies of Nutriens size

Cons

Bad experience. They acquired the company I was previously working for. It was like taking 10 steps back in technology, process efficiency, customer service and product availability. Get used to being lied to constantly, and there being no accountability to anyone in management. Had several disasters thrown in my lap and told to ‘figure it out’ with no support. Safety culture is also a lie- my location regularly would intimidate workers into dangerous situations. I had a sprained ankle from a fall at work, and the location safety manager tried to not let me file an incident report and would not help me navigate workers comp as it would reflect poorly on his location. Poor morale, and little ambition throughout the division. Also- the division management was extremely unresponsive to the locations when guidance was sought. That level of management was a good ol’ boys club, and lacks talent needed to be effective in their roles. Glad I am out.

Pros

The company offers a nice 401k match. The people are generally nice.

Cons

Management is totally scrambled and nobody can make decisions. The entire organization is political. The company as a whole is extremely behind the times in all aspects. Don’t expect to get work from home opportunities in Corporate as they are forcing everyone to return. Turnover is really high in the company. Career development opportunities are non-existent. Pay is pretty low. This is NOT a diverse organization either.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience at Nutrien. Recently, we did make a decision to transition employees back to working in our physical offices. Considering the focus on our culture, and the collaboration opportunities this presents, we are excited to see everyone again. To your other points, we continue to focus on improving a variety of experiences our employees have every day. With the addition of a dedicated senior leader focusing on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, a robust, multi-year strategy is being developed. Within this, dedicated career development opportunities for all employees has been rolled out, including leadership development for women, on demand resources for all employees, and employee resource groups. We are committed to this work and are tracking toward goals of 30% women in senior director roles by end of 2021 along with a KPI of 35% diverse hires, which is currently tied to leader compensation along with Nutrien Academy, Front Line Leader Training and a more robust EVP (Employee Value Proposition). If you’d like to continue the conversation, please reach out to us at yourvoice@nutrien.com
