Pros

None anymore. Past 2 1/2 years have been terrible.

Cons

We had great leadership 2 years ago and then they fired all the people that cared about the people under them. We also were meeting release deadlines. Ever since they fired the great leaders and brought in the trash leadership from John Deere we've struggled to meet our goals and deadlines. The market value has tanked and so has our bonuses. Mediocre raises and a dwindling bonus. No opportunity to move up and leadership expects you to predict what another department wants before they ask for it to get a promotion. It's not realistic and they now only hire externally. They refuse to make exceptions to the return to office policy for people with medical issues and doctors notes. This place is a political nightmare and anyone in leadership should be ashamed of themselves. Your boss can cuss at you and you're the one that gets fired for speaking up about it. Retaliation is their thing and someone might have a great case to build against them if they continue doing what they are. If you're looking for a new job avoid this place. The whole software development life cycle is completely unorthodox and not in a good way.

Pros

Leaders at Nutrien only serve the shareholders to ensure their millions in salary and their own security. Evidence that they could care less about people is based on the facts of people injured, killed, setup to fail, or laid-off from work each year. If leaders at Nutrien cared about people and the customer, they would treat them as key stakeholders before the shareholders. They would help employees set and align goals and support them to achieve their targets, they would understand customer requirements and exceed those requirements to add-value back to the customer. Instead, you get lip service from leaders who look at employees as a cost of doing business and discard them when it is convenient for them and their shareholders.

Cons

I’m big on altruism. But you cannot convince executives that money is not the goal., it is their only goal. Until that changes all hope for change is doomed. Because executives at Nutrien are way too narcissistic, too greedy making millions in salary, and self-centered to ever adopt empathy, building capabilities, empowerment, and creating a continuous improvement culture into the organization. These concepts are so foreign to them even after you explain it, they have no idea why these concepts are important.
