      Program management role in NSN

      Pros

      You can work very independently, where ever you want, and take time off quite flexibly if your tasks allow you to do so. Have had some very good managers and coaches in the company but also experienced the challenges.

      Cons

      Decision making is a general issues though. Lots of politics and inefficiency. You have to put in long hours, weekends etc. At the same time you see a lot of people in the company who have not had anything to do for a long time.

      Good Salary and Bonus during the growth years Friendly co workers Senior Management communicated often about goals and success stories Superior quality of products All people worked hard to maintain high product quality

      Cons

      European mentality regarding products created for American carrier customers - The home office in Finland limited new product development Top Heavy management - Too many people with vague titles and too few people doing actual work Process oriented. Too many meetings about 'how' to do a job. Totally missed some product trends during the past decade

      Pros

      - International work culture - get a chance to work with different sites and people - Good values and lot of emphasis on everyone to follow those - Most managers support good/work life balance

      Cons

      - Different units/organization work in silos and do not cooperate much, Each one is interested in achieving own targets rather than looking at overall or big picture - Very frequent re-orgs and changes which create confusion in employess mind and affect morale - Below par pay or huge difference in pay even for employees with similar experience/competence - many of the policies are just on paper. and depends heavilty on the individual manager. There is no clarity on pay, internal job trasnfers and promotions and those are just situation or luck based and on the manger.
