Pros

The pay is ok and when you have Newmont in your resume you will go very far in terms of bigger and better job offers.

Cons

Poor employee Induction especially in the SCM department. You will only survive here if you agree with the boss the loudest, not because you perform the well. Too many emotional and insecure people working here.

Newmont Mining has an excellent business culture, they offer an excellent compensation package and the company is led by an outstanding CEO.

Cons

Newmont is an international company, as such developing effective talent management systems is always a challenge. Career progression is somehow hindered by exposure to decision makers.

Pros

Free parking at office, good social club, great people. Standard processes, procedures and policies. Emphasis on corporate social and environmental responsibility.

Cons

High rate of staff turnover, resulting in poor knowledge sharing. Inadequate training programs to address employee skill development. Unrealistic expectation of workload and failure to replace employees that have left the company, instead choosing to redistribute workload among remaining team members. Thorough leadership pipeline, but failure to implement succession planning.
