Pros

NI provides an easy transition from college to the professional workforce with a fun and challenging work environment. They hire talented and interesting employees which creates a fun culture.

Cons

Low pay. Limited growth opportunity. Inexperienced management who promote more strongly biased to personal relationships rather than performance metrics.

Pros

The leadership at NI is very strong and maintains good communication with employees. There are lots of fun and exciting things to work on. The workplace environment is top notch and work-life balance is good.

Cons

Salaries are not the most competitive. It is sometimes difficult to move to different departments within National Instruments. Leadership sometimes seems to be overly cautious with company direction.

Pros

Easy and friendly work environment. Engaging projects and work throughout the organizations. Social and connected network of employees. Very solid and stable employer through good and bad economic times.

Cons

The company tends to be spread out a lot, which provides for extreme variance from manager to manager, causing some concerns about differing treatment of employees. NI also will not pay competitive salaries, and has not attempted to meet the market inflation rates or cost of living changes for employee compensation. It's a great place to work, just don't expect to grow your salary quickly, if at all.

Pros

- opportunity to learn for fresh - guidelines and guidelines - promote good environment to work - expatriate from US to Penang

Cons

- incompetent managers on important functional area, manager does not want to acknowledge it as "fail" case and have to keep the position. - no career path and development - very low salary compared to other MNC in Penang - unable to on par with others MNC in Penang on total compensation and benefits - good environment to work is not able to compensate the disadvantage of monetary - recognition is always not coming on time... sometime no at all and sometime get it when almost saturated... management is less sensitive on this or no sense on the important of this... - favouritism/ practice selective listening on issue raised up/ filtering info from low level to top level management - only manager will review employee performance but not the other way with quantitative measurement. Employee's only chance is to answer 2 structural questions to feedback on manager but this document is send back to same manager. There is no close loop to provide feedback and improvement to manager - tough promotion process in R&D - reduce career opportunities with more expatriate assignment and indirectly increase cost
