Pros

Work with smart people. Good work environment. Good hours. Interesting work. Very steady employer (no layoffs). Good location.

Cons

Pay is mediocre. Promotions/recognition are dependent on what team you're on. If you are on a low-profile team, you won't be seen.

Pros

I'm young, and almost everyone else there is young. So if your about the age of "just out of college" you should fit right in. It's a pretty laid back place to work with a lot of bright people.

Cons

Easy, the pay. I feel I have made major contributions and have even received company recognition (and performance bonuses). However, even though I feel I have been given above average pay raises compared to other employees, I still find my salary about average compared to the industry. If I wasn't a top performer, I would be very dissatisfied with my salary. Even so, I feel the need to explore other options, solely for compensation reasons. I have seen others here that have been here around ten years and I don't really see much of an improvement in lifestyle compared to what I am at currently. I do think the company has a better time retaining management than the engineers...

Pros

NI is a great place to work straight out of college. You'll immediately be given meaningful work and a chance to contribute. Your coworkers tend to be very bright and motivated people. There are plenty of activities to get involved in if you choose. The atmosphere is generally pretty laid back though it varies from group to group. The benefits are above average.

Cons

Project management isn't exactly something NI excels at. Projects are often poorly defined and organized which is generally balanced by the talent of the employees. Training is largely nonexistent. Lack of experienced hires means NI reinvents the wheel on a daily basis. Salaries are below average.
