Pros

Cheap food, discounted items, share save.

Cons

Everything. Toxic work culture, extreme pressures with no work life balance. This is also brought up in the yearly staff survey, yet no action is taken. Next are quick to audit their factories and preach about mental health but rinse their staff within an inch of their lives. HR are so slow and corrupt, applying for jobs either internally or externally you’re lucky to hear anything sometimes and have form for pulling jobs at the last minute. They also are only there to protect the business, not the staff. Unrealistic expectations are the norm, seeing people upset because of this is a regular occurrence. Everyone takes work home with them. Overtime which is unofficially mandatory, you are not paid for that time nor is it returned in lieu. Staff turnover is high & they don’t care. Breaks rarely happen. They have a poor reputation for this going back years and years, I’m not too sure why their replies sound shocked to hear things like this when posted in an open forum. Everyone around Leicester has a friend or family member who has worked at Next, 95% have had awful experiences.

Thank you for sharing your candid feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience at NEXT has been so challenging, and we take your concerns very seriously. We never want anyone to feel the way you’ve described, and it's clear there are areas where we need to improve. Your concerns around work-life balance, high pressure, and lack of follow-up after staff surveys are important, and we are committed to addressing these issues. We understand that feeling unsupported and facing unrealistic expectations can be incredibly frustrating, and it's disappointing to hear that efforts to improve mental health and wellbeing have not translated into meaningful action for our team. We also recognise your concerns around HR processes and recruitment, and we will review these areas to ensure they are more responsive and transparent. We hear you on the need for updated ways of working, and your suggestions about better supporting staff, listening, and motivating teams are invaluable. Pros

Good benifits. employee discount on cloaths.

Cons

If you are a skilled person dont concider applying for a position here. You cannot get promoted. Eventhough your hard work is getting recognized promotion is all about politics and the likeing of the person.

Pros

Unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros!

Cons

Where do I start! The buying management team at Next's head office in London are awful, shallow and rude to be quite blunt. There is little support in improving your career and it is the kind of place that 'if your face fits', then you are OK, but if it doesn't, your life is made to be a living hell. Buyers are not only bullies, but have no management skills and a lot have been there too long so they can get away with anything and everything. Let's not even get started on work life balance! No lunches, starting early and finishing late, and if you bring it up, you are made to feel like the most awful person and that you can't manage your workload, even though the workload is constantly getting bigger. The best advice I could give - AVOID ANY BUYING ROLES IN THE NEXT LONDON HEAD OFFICE.
