Pros

Generally a decent place to work. Pay tends to be a grade higher than equivalent jobs elsewhere in the federal government

Cons

There's a general lack of accountability and promotion tends to be based on how long you've been there, not necessarily on merit. There could be better risk-based management.

Pros

People really respect your work life balance, and there is lots of interesting history and historical value to working at NASA. There is a culture focused on learning and growing as a researcher.

Cons

Outdated practices, too many layers of beaurocracy, and sometimes lots of patience is required in working with older folks.
