      Pros

      The technical staff members are outstandingly smart. It's refreshing to interact with so many smart, motivated people. Motivated by knowledge, not by money.

      Cons

      But there are still some no-nothing, classic, government duds. No one gets fired here; poor performers just get shuffled around. Everyone hopes they don't receive one.

      Pros

      Stipend was very well paid. Work is awesome because it's all space and it's NASA. I enjoyed getting the opportunity to learn from senior engineers. There is an on-site gym.

      Cons

      Civil servant pay isn't that good and promotions take time. Older engineers stick around forever and don't retire, it seems to be the only way up.

      Pros

      Marked "worked at NASA" off my bucket list. Very flexible and reasonable with regard to work schedule (while I was part time) Staff was committed to finding tasks I was interested in, to further my professional development

      Cons

      The pay is pretty underwhelming.
