Pros

Tremendous people who care deeply about spaceflight. A wide variety of interesting work. Good benefits (pension! for now) and work/life balance. Collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Cons

At the mercy of congressional budget cycles. Large organization with a lot of bureaucracy, procurement processes are a nightmare. Wide variances in quality of different Divisions. Slow pace of progress. Difficult to be hired as a civil servant outside the co-op process.

Pros

At all levels, NASA attracts the best and the brightest so it truly deserves the recognition it receives as best place in government to work. And the missions and programs inspire everyone!

Cons

Very bureaucratic with lots of people involved in every decision.

Pros

NASA has federal government benefits. They have an amazing campus at JSC and the best creative mindset I've ever experienced.

Cons

They have to deal with the standard politics and red tape all feds deal with. Projects often get bogged down or pushed to the wayside due to lack of workforce.
