Pros

The culture at NASA is awesome, very people oriented. NASA supports a healthy work life balance, numerous employees have flexible schedules. NASA has been voted the best place to work a couple years in row! Parking and the commute is not an issue!

Cons

There isn't a downside of working here per say-- this comment refers to working in the Government period. There is a cap in the Government, so be prepared for that. Depending on the series you work in, your grade (salary) can only go to a certain cap per the position and its requirements. There's little to no flexibility unless you move to a different position.

Pros

Has great work- life balance. Always open to funding the education of their engineers.

Cons

To start out, as a young engineer in California, the salary does not match the cost of living. Its very hard to start out with a government salary.
