      Pros

      Great mentor Allowed me to be in a position where I could strengthen my weaknesses as a developer, but also showcase my talents. My internship was not like most internships at Nasa Armstrong. Most interns do not work closely with their mentors, and are left on their own to complete a project. Also, I'm happy to know that my work will be used in later stages of development, whereas most intern projects are not used.

      3 months isn't enough to learn the structure, politics, and all the other dynamics of an engineering environment

      Great place to work. You learn a lot .

      Cons

      Office culture is good ole boy network. No contractor conversion . Under performers and office politics hinder growth. No real leadership. No newness, age old employees who refuse to change. New ideas ignored even when old ways are ineffective. Government beauracracy. Doesn't effectively recognize or prevent issues before becomes grave catastrophe. Doesn't allow outsiders and recycled same poor leadership and bad ideology.

      Great colleagues, interesting work with potential real world applications, fantastic work/life balance.

      Cons

      Can hit a career limit with not a lot of opportunities to lead work or participate on exciting projects. Salaries are lower than comparable positions in the area.
