Pros

flexible schedule, job stability, benefits, employee resource groups, training opportunities

Cons

work life balance is non-existent, cut throat (project managers will throw anyone under the bus to make themselves look good), managers do the bare minimum to support their team members, outdated ways of doing business, mission support roles are not respected and viewed and treated like "the help", unreal expectations placed on civil servants because of high contractor support turnover, good ol boy culture it's not what you know it's who you know. Stifle growth by blocking rotations and lateral moves. Can be blackballed for seeking other opportunities within the same Agency & Center!!

Pros

NASA has really embraced the telework environment and has provided their employees a better work life balance. Also you get to work for NASA! Very fun projects and you feel like the contributions you are making are morally good.

Cons

The contractors do most of the work, most NASA employees are more like project managers than engineers. Sometimes you feel redundant
