Pros

Good vacation time after 5 years. Recent bonus structure has made it possible to actually achieve but probably will be changed due to too many payouts.

Cons

Never satisfied with what you've done. Different levels of home office don't like each other and don't communicate effectively. Too much politics to advance.

Pros

Close knit on a store level- associates often feel more like your children than your employees. Customers can be really enthusiastic about sporting events which is always exciting.

Cons

Mitchell Modell is a business man only interested in growing his pockets, not his business. Managers are expected to work 70 hour workweeks with no extra compensation. Usage of sick days is frowned upon. If someone close to Mitchell puts in his ear that managers at X company are outstanding, he will instruct to recruit out of that company at unbearably high salaries, as opposed to promoting the fantastic people within the company as their on boarding process glorifies. The new Loss Prevention Supervisor is on a mission to prove that more than 50% off our theft is internal, and will bag kids for making simple register mistakes that can be corrected through progressive discipline. Training is non existent for the company- so if you want anything more than a shoe jockey or a maintenance man you really have to put together the training material yourself and schedule a store meeting within your skeleton payroll.
