There were zero benefits to working at this company. You might be wondering "wow, if it was so terrible, why did she stay this long?" I landed this job when I was in high school. And it being my first job, my naivety led me to believe that it would get better, but I admit that staying this long was a mistake (also, the coworkers were really nice to work with at the time so I enjoyed the work environment itself, but not so much the issues that arose in regards to the following). Payment was ambiguous (not being paid for weeks, sometimes being short, missing bonuses, missing vacation hours), it is hard to communicate concerns because of language barriers (not many people in upper management speak fluent English), concerns that are received take forever to be addressed (if addressed at all), you're expected to stay overtime-- but payment? who is she, pressuring employees to quit (not scheduling them and expecting them to just quietly go), nepotism in the company, unrealistic monthly goals/bonus system where some stores have an obvious advantage (doesn't really boost any morale), weird marketing campaigns that would confuse customers (couldn't even blame them for being angry because the misleading wording on marketing material), no proper training for employees, if an item's packaging is slightly damaged they would make us throw out the entire thing (a fat waste and contradictory to values, especially since they implemented 30 cent bags to promote being environmentally friendly, but they still throw out products that could either be discounted or taken home by staff), and no discounts/benefits for employees (if you're coworkers are nice they'll sauce you a free bag! wow big savings!) TLDR if I could travel back in time and warn 17 year old me about how the problems would go from 1 to 100 real fast, I would have never applied. Don't work here.
