Pros

Co-workers are helpful and friendly.

Cons

Management is unprofessional, condescending, and disrespectful to their staff. They don't properly train you and blame you for making mistakes, and expect you to perform tasks flawlessly even when you are still learning their system. The company tends to hire people with no prior retail experience because an experienced employee would not tolerate their behaviour. Stay well clear of this company, especially the Burlington store.

Pros

The only pros is cute items, plush, and maybe a few licensed items but expensive. Not much else to say

Cons

When working here it's fun at first, until the cracks really show. Depending on which store you work at, if you're not Toronto located, good luck hearing the words of customers asking for Sanrio merch. Because miniso Canada only advertises Sanrio merchandise and nothing else. Anything that was Miniso advertising is just plush and not the actual boring products that most stores recieve It may wanted to be a cute Asian convenience store vibe but it just isn't cutting out, along with the items. Also be ready to receive a ton of items you know won't sell I'm talking sports, birthday items, cups and mugs that never sell, slippers that only come in one size, toys that make you go "who is this even for?" Stationary that stays forever, and kitchen items. Those items do not sell unless they actually look cute and useful and even some of the useful kitchen items and water bottles somehow get spammed into the store shipments. Oh and out of date electronic items no one uses anymore. Miniso. Get. Rid. Of. The. Xbox 360 controller headphones, iPhone <13 anything items. No one is using those anymore and get with the times you crusted old minded person. This isn't 2009 when Xbox 360 was popular. No one uses those headphones anymore and are completely useless. iPhone 7/8 is obsolete and so is XS and XS max. Obsolete. And you should be ashamed. And if you're store is small. Be aware you will be a 2-3 team work for the day and 1 person will be all alone for the closing shift Never enough staff for the shipments that get sent to a tiny store and customers constantly complaining about the boxes when you're only a 2 person team until the next person shows up in the afternoon. You have to constantly fight with the higher ups managing your stores now. Gone are the days of good management and there's no one HR to talk to, they forward all complaints and concerns back to your now area manager, what even is the point of having an HR department if they won't help you with your complaint? Cash register always freezes if an item scans a QR code that's right next to a barcode. The debit credit machine if not intergrated will often go on a black screen and you have to reboot the system entirely making the line back up and have to wait for the system to be back online in order to finish a transaction. They make you work too much and after 5 hours you can have a 30 minute break? I would bring back 15 minute breaks because that's just a ridiculous standard. Never gives stores what they request, via supplies needed for the store, never answers emails, takes forever to get a response on WeChat. Constantly changing what the store looks like without realizing the store is too small and needs to be accessable for anyone with a disability or a stroller. Disregards invisible disabilities. Anytime a food/drink shipment arrives there's always a barcode not working and it takes too long to get it fixed. No one ever approves the throw out items and constantly having to fight with higher ups to approve it. The stress this store goes through is enough and honestly not worth the broken system for a measly crap pay cheque, no benefits, no discounts, nothing. And the enraged customers over a no return or exchange policy on the regular items and you already constantly have to tell customers it's final sale and never hear it. Or ask if the spend x amount get free item. They expect it everytime and they're just selfish. Abusive customers over electronics return policy if it's defective it can be returned in 7 days> Rewards program changing made customers angry rightfully so. No one wants to save less than they do now thanks to the upgrade. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO WORK AT EVER. And I am forever going to be boycotting the store as a former employee soon, goodbye to this as a whole.
