Head office and Upper Management was completely messy overall. As store associates, Managers or Key holders, they expect you to do construction work that was not part of your contract. Imagine doing extreme labor to break down store racks and back room racks while using a sledge hammer or any heavy products to make things work. While doing these “construction work”, you are not given safety equipment to do the work safely and properly (no helmets, screw drivers, gloves etc). To add on, staff head count is extremely low to the point there’s only three people and you are expected to come everyday working more than 40 hours per week as a part timer. There’s no staff appreciation from head office or upper management at all if you decide to do work beyond from what’s expected. You have Area Managers or Disctrict Managers right? Don’t rely on them, if you need support like extra head count, store supplies, feedback etc., they’ll just tell you to do what you can with what you have and they’ll try to bring what they can in like 5-6 weeks later. Feedback? They’ll hound you for the numbers you can’t control even though you tried your hardest to increase them. Another thing is, can you rely on other locations to probably help you out? It’s a 50:50. Some stores actually have a heart to devote their time to support you like sharing files, strategies, information and all. But some are complete bullies. They will kiss up to higher management thinking they’re above every other location, but guess what, they’re a mess too but one small compliment from upper management about making daily sales goal for one day made them delusional. That other specific location kept making “smart” remarks no one asked for, blatantly join in with the area manager to make fun of another store and more. Oh yeah let’s add context, you use an app called WeChat. There are over 20 group chats you are put in that included opening pictures, closing pictures, shipment pictures, closing cleaning pictures, leaders group chat, area group chat, merchandise group chat and MORE. There was a store manager group chat which I known of, and tell me why that other store location just can’t keep their mouth shut about their opinions and have the area manager join them to make fun of our store? Like as leaders, this is how you behave? The company needs a whole revamp and an ethics training or something because there is something wrong with this style of management.
