Pros

Medical Benefits are the best. Transportation benefits are awesome. They have a pretty good library and subscription to all major scientific journals..

Cons

They are a H1-B dependent company. And they treat their foreign employees as sweat labor. The employees also don't complain because they are drooling for their green card. By the time they get it, they become accustomed to sweat shop life and think that is they all companies work.

Pros

Very good benefit package: medical insurance is grate, membership in the sport club, Microsoft transportation, etc. Training classes frequently given by book authors and other famous people.

Cons

There always should be certain percentage of "bad" performers. I was leaving the company a month before the review. My manager suggested (probably it was an advice of GM) that I take a vacation otherwise they would not be able to pay me a bonus. so I did. Instead they gave me the worst performance review possible which assumes no bonus at all. I found it difficult to switch to another group as a developer from developer in test. Too many managers that are Microsoft bred. Most of them worked only in Microsoft in North America.

Pros

Working with some of the smartest people in the industry. Great work-life balance, many vacation days, great food and access to resources and information. A perfect place to work if you want a steady job.

Cons

Many of the smart people are underutilized, working on boring tasks and struggling with failing infrastructure. People with strong algorithmic skills work on simple business logic while those with business knowledge have no opportunity to use it. This makes career growth harder as you have to work on side projects to gain visibility.
