Where do I begin? Lets start with the most important aspect for anyone in business development – commission. The commission plan is fluid to put it kindly. You can have absolutely no confidence in the commission plan as it changes non stop, this could be due to the constant changes in senior management however the fact that it seems to change whenever there is potentially some large commission to pay out due to deals about to come in has led me to believe its something more planned and sinister.
I have come to the firm conclusion that there is somebody in the CFO office who is actively instructing the sales department to adjust the commission plan accordingly in order to minimise commission paid. This would be in line with the general drive to minimise costs in the last 12 months. The company has been boasting about recruitment numbers etc, however this hides the fact that new recruits seem to be coming in on minimal salary while a lot of the higher earners in senior management appear to have been shown the exit. With the constant drive to minimise commission and the clear message of driving down costs it does lead one to wonder if the company is in worse shape than they are stating in there financial reporting (which wouldn’t be the first time!)
Next up I will touch on the culture / atmosphere at work. To be completely frank it appears to be little more than a cult worshipping the CEO / Chairman of the Board / President -(all the same person by the way lol). Any senior management who dare disagree with anything the great leader says doesn't last long. Which obviously leads to yes men all through the chain of command. I can honestly say I have not had one manager who I actually respected in terms of how they do their job. Everyone lives in fear of the great leader and this obviously permeates every aspect of working their, to the extent that as part of their reviews they have everyone anonymously rate others performance, which is obviously used to settle scores. Anyone familiar with the tactics of the great cultural revolution? Is that's your thing then MSTR (Microstrategy) is the place for you!
.
Anyway I have better things to be doing than spending time on this company, I would just urge any BDR looking to join MSTR to avoid this company. You will not get the commission you are promised and the fact that they are actively minimising the commission they are paying may point to something far more serious in terms of their future viability.
Finally, it is quite amusing to see all the poorly written, short, positive reviews with no likes. If i didn't know better I would have to question whether they were genuine...
Thanks for taking the time to read this
