- Nobody cares about work-life balance. It’s been one of the poorest scoring items on the internal company survey ever since I joined. Every time they talk about how they are going to address it, they say that work-life balance isn’t correlated with employee retention and is therefore lower priority. They literally tell us that. Then they make no effort to improve it. It’s getting worse and worse now with many of my colleagues working until midnight almost day.
- HR seems to have no power over bad managers. They acknowledged that I had a poor manager, yet they could do nothing to correct their behavior. Eventually they told me that I should just find a new team because there was nothing they could do.
