Great benefits, impact driven , US-centric organisation
Pros
Great benefits all around for healthcare (physical and mental health), maternity, benefits, flexi-benefits etc. Flexible working environment with lots of support especially during the COVID-19 work from home period. Increased emphasis on diversity and inclusion efforts. High growth mode in Asia Pacific.
Cons
Facebook is still very much US-centric in many ways- global strategies are largely built in the US/ scaled from the US. Headcount growth, career mobility opportunities are largely skewed to the US despite Asia Pacific being one of the fastest growing markets and contributing significantly to the company's performance. A fast moving, impact driven mode of working where people are evaluated every six months may cause stress/ poor work-life balance to some, may result in leaving people behind who think and execute and show impact in diverse ways, or cause managers and ICs to place emphasis on shipping/recognising short-term output and invest less in long-term, thoughtful, intentional work.
