Pros

Flexible hours, great pension plan. Work environment is very friendly and everyone is always willing to give a helping hand. A lot of times you are able to implement your own strategies to reach your business goals without 24/7 supervisions. The system (met portal) provides everything you need to know about the company. Anything from different products to other services can be found with ease.

Cons

Sometimes managers are not available when they are needed. Very few times, there was a lack of communication between senior management and newly appointed employees about job expectations.

Pros

Benefits. MetLife has a retirement plan that is vested in 3 years. The medical, vacation and 401K matching is all great. They also have generous packages when they layoff!

Cons

The senior management is in disconnect with its employees. Very weak in execution of any strategy, the execution is not thought thru. There is lot of reversing decisions that unsettles the rank and file. My experience is in IT and we have had situations where senior management has made some decisions that people find it difficult (or impossible!) to implement. The focus seems to be on cutting costs without realizing long term implications.

Pros

Benefits are good. Flex time

Cons

Opportunities are advertised but politics drives who gets what jobs, even lateral moves. Management looks for ees to manage their own development. Often ees don't know the direction of senior management which makes self manangment of your skillset difficult. Company has taken a turn for the worse in regards to management / subordinate relationship, since going public. Morale seems very low
