Pros

Pay is great, get to help customers with their insurance needs, best coworkers I’ve ever had

Cons

You have extremely generous amounts of PTO but you aren’t allowed to use it. I requested my July wedding anniversary off during schedule bid in December and they said I cannot use any of my 4 weeks of PTO for it due to “business need”.

Pros

Benefits, 401k, vacation, flexible work schedules. The telecommuting program allow employees to work from home on specific days. Employees are committed to doing a great job.

Cons

No sick time. Outdated policies, raises are poor, bonus is not enough for amount of work, team environment is a joke. Employees are stuck in same position for years without any advancement. Not enough employees to do the work during peak times. Managers leave early while associates are left doing the work. Managers promote according to favoritisms. QA is elementary and a means for associates not to do relevant work. QA is used as an excuse to not give raises. The QA is inconsistent across the board as some associates are not subject to QA and some employees are inundated with elementary and distracting QA process. The QA does not equal to accurate processes throughout the departments.

Pros

A large established employer like MetLife brings structure, professionalism, and routine. Leadership opportunities for women exist in multiple areas.

Cons

It can also be where creativity and innovation go to die. It's a great place to go if you want to park at a desk for 20 years and be marginally challenged. Don't think that improving processes or making things better will be rewarded - making smart alliances and friendships will be rewarded.
